Examination & Method of Assessment

Examination and Method of Assessment

Evaluation of student’s progress is a continuous process. At IIEBM, we believe in a system of ongoing evaluation where students are assessed on a regular basis over and above the mid and end semester examinations.

The evaluation system is a dynamic one which is designed to make one aware as to where he / she stands in terms of his / her understanding of a subject / topic.

There is assessment of students by way of weekly quizzes (subject related and on general awareness & general knowledge), assignments, individual and group presentations, projects, PEP activities etc.

Students are required to be prepared at all times and are required to submit their assignments as per decided deadlines.

Break-up of 100 marks allotted for every subject is as follows:

  • End Semester Exams : 40 % weightage.
  • Mid Semester Exams : 60 % weightage.
  • Students are required to secure minimum 50% marks Mid Semester Exam & End Semester Exam separately and overall 50% marks in (Aggregate).

Examinations / Re-Examination / Re-assessment / Backlogs :

Absence from internal exams, viva-voce, practicals and non-submission of assignments as per deadlines will make student ineligible for internal assessment. No excuses for the same will be entertained.
Students will be given the opportunity for re-examination in subjects they have failed or would like to improve their percentage.
Exam fee per subject will be charged for all backlogs / re-examinations / re-assessment of papers. Application form for the re-assessment / re-checking should be submitted within 7 days of the declaration of result or the dates declared from time to time along with the prescribed fee.
Students shall be allowed to carry maximum of 4 backlogs from any one or more semesters. Students with more than 4 backlogs will not be eligible for Internship (Winter and Summer) and Final Placement assistance by the Institute.
